Castaway Play’s Christmas Alpine Retreat is a festive family event. Children can check in at Elf Passport Control and begin their journey with a special alpine passport and a golden ticket to see Santa. Families can visit Santa’s private grotto, explore the magical woodland and wishing tunnel, see the Elf Cottage, and enjoy festive surprises along the way. There is also a visit to the Grinch in his lair and a stop at the new North Pole Post Office, where children can send their Christmas wishes.
The event also includes lots of hands on activities and family fun. Children can choose a toy from Santa’s Toy Shop, decorate gingerbread with Mrs Claus, play in the winter woodland, and enjoy a snowball fight area. Families can race in the sleigh challenge, make reindeer food for Christmas Eve, and even build their own bear to take home. A souvenir photo with Santa is available as an optional extra, and the ticket also includes access to favourite play areas. It is a lovely Christmas experience for families looking to make special memories together.

Before your Christmas Alpine Retreat & Play adventure begins, please take a moment to read the important information for your visit. We want every family to have a smooth, relaxed and enjoyable experience, so this guide will help you know what to expect on the day. It includes helpful details about your session, arrival and access to Castaway Play, so you can plan ahead and make the most of your festive visit.
We have also included a few extra notes to make things as easy as possible for families joining us this Christmas season. From knowing when to arrive to understanding how your booking works, this information is here to help your visit run happily from start to finish. Please read through everything carefully before you come along, and we look forward to welcoming you for a magical Christmas experience.
- Duration: The experience lasts 2.5 hours and starts from the time of your booking.
- Session times: 9.00 – 11.30, 12.00 – 14.30 and 15.30 – 18.00.
- Arrival: Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled start time.
- Access: Access to Castaway Play will only be granted at your booked time. Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes early.
- Extras: Additional activities can be added on the day.

Gingerbread Decorating
Gingerbread decorating with Mrs Claus. Mrs Claus has is out of time to decorate all of the Gingerbreads before Christmas. Allergy options available.
